Tangerine Tutoring currently has two math tutors! We specialize in providing one-on-one tutoring, catering to the learning styles of each individual student. Calculus isn’t easy, but it is a lot of fun! The AP calculus curriculum covers a wide variety of topics, many of which are built on the foundation of previous courses like algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

What’s the difference between AP Calculus AB and AP Caclulus BC?

• AP Calculus AB is the college equivalent of a first-semester calculus course (i.e. Calculus 1)

• AP Calculus BC covers two additional units, plus further expansion of topics covered in AP Calculus AB, which is the equivalent of a first- and second-semester college calculus class (i.e. Calculus 1 and 2)

  • Additional techniques of integration

  • Euler’s method and logistic models with differential equations

  • Arc length and distance traveled along a smooth curve

  • Parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions

  • Infinite sequences and series

All tutoring sessions are held in-person at a public location, or online via Google Meet.

Students come to our AP Calculus tutors prepared with questions, classwork, homework assignments, notes, or quizzes and exams for review. Calculus tutors provide personalized instruction to work through the material with the student. We pride ourselves not only for our ability to explain the material, but for helping students realize that they have the knowledge and capability to find the answers to their own questions. We do not just provide the answers; part of our job is to teach students how to reach their own conclusions, and to find solutions on their own.

Tangerine Tutoring covers all high school and college level math and science, which includes Calculus. This means we support high school level calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and IB Math or IB Calculus. We have ample experience working directly with students of all ages and ability. Our tutors are passionate and excited about the materials they teach, and excel at explaining difficult concepts in an easy-to-understand fashion that is sure to make the subject stick!
